How an AntLion Hunts | How an AntLion Changes | How an Adult AntLion Lives |

How does a baby ant lion become an adult ant lion (metamorphize)?

We ant lions stay in our larval or baby stage from 1 to 3 years. That's a long time for such little creatures like us. After that we build a cocoon around ourselves out of sand and silk. It's such a nice little place in there that we stay in it for about a month.

After that month, we will break out as a new creature! Talk about starting over. When we emerge out of the sand, we are now considered adults. And we will look quite different. One of main differences you will see is that we now have wings! Cool huh!
